Not only are the majority of people in Southend eurosceptic, but both of Southend's Tory MPs, James Duddridge, who represents Rochford and Southend East, and David Amess who represents Southend West, are supporting Brexit.
The east London borough of Havering, who last month became the first local authority in the country to vote to leave the EU, tops the list as the most eurosceptic place in Britain.
Pollsters YouGov, have crunched data from its profiles of 80,000 British people ahead of the EU referendum and has reached the conclusion that support for the Out camp is highest in Havering.
In contrast, the boroughs of Lambeth, Camden, Southwark, Hackney and Brent are all in the top 10 areas of Britain for Europhiles, the analysis claimed.
YouGov made its calculations based on the average net support for leaving the EU in each region it had enough profile data for.
In a statement on its website, YouGov said: “The euroscepticism of various areas partly correlates with lower income but euroscepticism also has strongholds in the more wealthy, Tory shires.”
YouGov, which has put together an interactive map of its findings, said support for remaining in the EU is almost always concentrated in smaller, urban areas.
The EU referendum will be held on Thursday, June 23.
