Distributism and the Local Organic Food Movement

Great change for the good often comes slowly. It creeps up through the cracks in a broken system, and begins to take the place of its previous forms. Slowly, public opinion, public actions, and individual sentiments begin to be formed in a new way. This is exactly what is happening in America today.

The Local Organic Food Movement, which advocates local, clean, non-adulterated, sustainable food, is making inroads into society. Small to medium-sized farms are producing good quality, intensely tasteful, sustainable, organic, clean food for local populations of people. Herein we see community being formed around food, which is one of the only things that all people share in common. We all eat. The Local Organic Food Movement is one of the clearest and most successful examples of Distributism in the last century. There are thousands of farms committed to staying reasonably-sized, assisting others into the system of farming, and feeding people locally. I believe if Chesterton were alive today, he would be ecstatic with such developments, and the awakening of the populace to the reality that most of the food in the supermarkets, or big box stores as he called them, is simply not fit for consumption as food. Through the Local Organic Food Movement we are seeing a shift in agricultural and economic farming practices, which are nearly identical to the principles expounded in Catholic Social Teaching and by the Distributist writers.

What began as a fight against the corporate establishment by the hippies and back to the landers of the 60’s has slowly evolved into an integrated movement that for the most part has abandoned the less savory aspects of the hippy revolt, and yet have kept the ideal of using nature as a guide in farming. Now many of the voices promoting a return to a sane agriculture also speak with a conviction they receive from the Christian tradition of stewardship of Creation. Yet, even those who do not share the Christian faith have allied with those that do to bring forth an agricultural alternative to the corporate chemical agriculture that has dominated since the World War II era. Voices such as Joel Salatin, Eliot Coleman, Wendell Berry, Wes Jackson, and Will Allen have taken the local organic food movement to the common people, and they have exposed the lies of the chemical establishment. Films such as Food, Inc., Fresh, King Corn, Genetic Roulette, and The Future of Food have awoken many to the fact that much of what is available in the seemingly unprecedented selection of the supermarket are really just reconfigurations of corn and soy, or things that were fed using corn and soy. This food typically won’t rot, and thus, while one can eat it, one really shouldn’t. What we are seeing is an awakening of food consciousness in the general populace that wasn’t there a decade ago. This awakening is making the voice of small, local-based farmers heard, and their voice is getting louder.

We no longer live in the early Twentieth century. In the time of Chesterton, the world’s population had just reached two billion. In only eighty years we have more than tripled that mark, while at the same time the number of farmers has steadily decreased. This now goes with another unprecedented change. The number of acres being farmed in the world recently began to decrease. So now we have fewer farmers and fewer acres being farmed. With less acreage to farm, we need to farm as efficiently and productively as possible, and research is now showing that sustainable farming on a small to medium scale is the most productive, especially in adverse weather conditions, such as drought. In our current system of what has been dubbed “Agribusiness” with ever-growing fields of corn and soybeans and little else, instead of having food that is an authentic manifestation of culture, we have nearly inedible, highly processed food that is making people sicker each and every day. New statistics come out daily of the increased rates in more than a dozen degenerative diseases that are increasingly being linked to food and its adulteration through massive processing, improper growing, genetic modification, unceasing pesticide use, and the list goes on and on. In addition, studies have found that genetically modified foods typically do not stand up as well to adverse weather conditions as naturally bred, non-GMO crops do.

The Distributist agricultural moment is at hand if only we would become more aware of it. The agricultural monoliths of Agribusiness like Monsanto and Cargill will not be dethroned through litigation; they will be dethroned through social consciousness and decision making about food.

The Local Organic Food Movement is making inroads. Farmer’s Markets, CSA’s, and restaurants serving locally sourced food are beginning to pop up throughout the United States. We need to do our part to support these small establishments.

Why Food? Food is the motor for life. Without food we very quickly waste away, and without good food our health and quality of life deteriorate. Food is also a uniting factor between different people. Many faiths are united by food. Whether it is the Eucharist for Catholics, the Passover and dietary laws for Jews, or dietary laws for Muslims, we find food as a central factor in faith. Food is also something that all people on earth have in common. Everyone must eat, and therefore everyone has an interest in food. Not everyone is interested in cars, sports, or the latest movie, but everyone is interested in having food on their plate come dinner time.

Food, and therefore farming, makes the ideal platform for the distributist economic model. It was, I believe, for this reason that the original Distributists manifested their economic prerogatives through what would become known as the Catholic Land Movement. Returning people to the land would provide a basis for small holdings, small economics, and sanity in all aspects of life. These families and individuals could begin by providing for themselves, and then sell the excess. It is my belief, though, that in our own times we must tweak this policy somewhat. While I believe that the family on the land should provide first for themselves, it has also become necessary to answer that all-consuming question of our times: how shall we feed the world? Ought we to leave this to the giant monoculture, land destroying, oil consuming farms, or ought we to jump in, get our hands dirty, and feed as many people as we can from the land we’re given? It is not enough for us to merely feed our own family as farmers, but we must also do what we can to provide food to those who have none.

Why local? Local food just makes sense. Joel Salatin, owner and operator of Polyface Farm of much recent fame, has stated that local must be the first step in the real food movement. Local comes before organic, before sustainable, before no-till or low till. It comes before everything else, because local brings accountability. Local food builds community and gives food a face. When a consumer gets to shake the farmer’s hand after every transaction there is a relationship of trust being built there, and the consumer wants to trust the farmer. This relationship will lead to questions about how the food was raised, and so this accountability will lead to a sustainable, healthy way of growing food. The very nature of local food demands it. This local element echoes the principle of subsidiarity where the smallest possible entity does a certain thing. If ten small to medium-sized farms can do the job better (meaning in a healthier and authentically productive manner) then these farms should do the job rather than one giant farm, which merely looks efficient. Subsidiarity (not to be confused with “subsidies”) helps us to keep food local, sustainable, and healthy. Farmers who know their land, crops, and animals intimately can take better care of them than science can with millions of tons of antibiotics, pesticides, and other toxic chemicals. The Distributist ideal of the small farm allows us to see the productiveness of farming in terms of personal and environmental health rather than merely in bushels and dollar signs.

Why organic? Many farmers who have promoted the organic movement have become a bit disenchanted as many organic businesses and farms have sold out to the global conglomerates. Many gave up their integrity for the dollar signs they originally set out to fight against. With the introduction of the USDA Certified Organic program came a backlash against the program that from the beginning had to deal with those who sought to water down organic standards. Thus many farmers have shied from the program in favor of their own integrity being the certification for the food they grow. This is why local comes first. The personal relationship between consumer and farmer acts as a guarantee that the food they are eating was really raised in a healthy manner. As mentioned above, real food is not cheap. The cheap pre-processed foods in the store only seem cheap, but as you take into account the massive toll on the health of both individuals and the environment, it no longer seems so cheap. Your local farmer isn’t likely receiving any government subsidies. His food costs in dollars the true cost of food, but the effect on your body and the environment will be one that is beneficial rather than detrimental. One of our great duties as stewards of creation is to farm in a way that respects nature’s patterns. These are patterns God built right into creation, and ones that we can disobey only with great harm to ourselves and the land.

The Local Organic Food Movement could be a very powerful vehicle for promoting the ideas and ideals of Distributism. The tide is turning in favor of local, healthy produced food, and people are staring in the face of a very anemic economy. The roots of America are in the soil, and the original vision of America’s founding fathers was highly agrarian. With the right support, a few Catholic small to medium-sized farmers could make a dramatic difference in this overall movement. There are many good men and women who are farming in ways that respect God’s designs and follow nature’s patterns. For young men like me who have jumped into this movement head first and struggle to keep afoot, we need all the help we can get. It is especially nice when that hand is a Catholic one who sees and promotes common ideals.

I’ve been farming full time for two years, and I now have a good grasp of what I’m doing, but we need people to support the ideals of returning to the land in whatever way they can. It is my hope and dream to one day have a large training farm from which we can not only feed others, but also train others in farming and grow the Distributist movement organically.

The Genius of Bob Matthews

Here’s an untold story about Bob.  From what I’ve been able to piece together, it was the most interesting thing about him. He was very different than other WN leaders.

The year is 1981 and Bob just formed the Order. He needs money and a lot of it. He knows there are only three ways to get it:
  1. print it
  2. earn it, or
  3. steal it
Earning it takes too long in America. He decides to steal it, and he decides to stick up banks.

But he’s never done this before. He tells his people he’s leaving and that he’ll be back.

For 3 months, he’s gone. In that time, he learned how to….…. rob banks properly. More than just being a great thinker, Bob becomes great in the field. In time, his crew will be one of the best ever. They work the highest grossing Brinks truck robbery of all time.

Bank robbery is a serious crime; the penalty includes prison time. It’s very hard to pull off because banks are well-protected, and one has get in and out in under 5 minutes. In, get the money, out. And one has to get far enough away that one escapes the police.

In modern times, very few have been able to do the work and go clear. This isn’t the 1800s anymore, where one can rob stagecoaches and there’s no police presence. Video cameras, iphones, and short police response times make bank robbery quite hard.

Bob must have studied successful and unsuccessful bank robberies. He read case files and newspaper clippings. He performed surveillance on banks, saw how they were set up. He looked at police response times. He calculated every element and planned to cover as many outs as possible.

To do things right takes a tremendous amount of discipline. Bob must have been far different from the average man. It’s not gambling once one finds an edge. One tries to minimize luck and create a replicable system.

Sitting here, it seems impossible that someone might be TOO active. WN today is characterized by its inactivity and fear. But it’s possible. Bob’s mistake was becoming too active. He didn’t allow enough cooling off between jobs. He could have been an excellent career criminal, still working today and still free.

Rest is important. Rest and work must be emphasized in equal proportion. It provides distance and time to think about mistakes. In the field, one is focused on getting things done. All the calculations are done when sitting at home though.

There is a strange, hyper-vigiliant feeling one gets from constantly working. It’s being too close to the action. One can feel paranoid, and see things that aren’t there. An animal being hunted feels the hunter’s breath. It’s like that. One might compare it to PTSD.

Antarian Jew, Tim Wise, Fails at Hofstra University

According to a report by the Council of Conservative Citizens, the lecture by the subversive White Hating Jew rat Tim Wise at Hofstra University was a huge flop. 90% of the available seats were empty showing that Wise’s vile and unique brand of White hatred is not doing so well on the lecture circuit.

As we have reported previously, his speech at Indiana University was met with a significant number of patriotic White protesters denouncing Wise for his mean spirited White hating ways.

Wise is scheduled to speak at the following venues over the next couple of months.  If you are in the local area of any of these schools, please consider showing up to protest his appearance and let him know that his hatred of White people will not be tolerated.

How Much Longer Is White America Going to Take This Crap?

Earlier this week we heard about the events surrounding the SAE frat boys at the University of Oklahoma (here, here, and here). A total nothing, but it created a firestorm and the idiotic and cowardly university president illegally expelled two of the students.

A solid analysis of that cringeworthy example of Whites groveling and prostrating themselves before the altar of Negrocentric political correctness is given in the article Hysteria, Bad Taste, and a Loss for Oklahoma.

And now comes news of two police officers being shot in Ferguson, Missouri (here).

Ah, yes, the never-ending Ferguson fiasco -- just another chapter in the book of contemporary White weakness and cowardice when it comes to our failure to stand up to the mob rule of the uncivilized black underclass.

Here is a timely and thorough recap of the disgustingly outrageous Ferguson situation: Martha Stewart and the Ferguson Lynch Mob.

I have just one complaint: When it comes to the pukeworthy, criminally inciteful mainstream media coverage, and the discussion near the end of the article of the actions of the alien criminal early-day communist leaders in Russia, the author points to the Jew but doesn't name him. Oh, well.

I have to wonder how many White people ever bother to stop and think about what happens when a person, a society, or a nation (or a dog or any other animal for that matter) shows these kinds of weakness to a lethal adversary.

Well, here is what happens to White Americans: loss of jobs to racial preferences for the coloreds, especially government jobs (and simply for refusing to kiss their butts); economic enslavement to a welfare state set up to support the Negroes and other colored minorities; our people having to suffer the hugely disproportionate violent, felonious interracial crimes committed by Negroes and mestizos (assault, rape, torture, murder); more particularly, the ravaging and savaging of our mothers, wives, and children; loss of control by virtue of having to tailor our criminal justice system so as to pander to (and react more 'understandingly' and weakly to) the non-White mobs; loss of freedoms of expression and association; loss of territory (being afraid to enter, in fact having to abandon, large sections of cities, in fact entire cities and entire areas); loss of our Eurocentric culture and erosion of our Western Civilization; and on and on ad nauseam.

No One Cares about Your Just Cause

If you thought that your cause was fair, that in actuality you were fighting “for your rights,” that you have rights like anyone else, and, in the wake of the fairness of your cause, you were going to receive popular support, you should know that you were damn wrong.

Unfortunately, your cause being a fair cause doesn’t mean that your cause is necessarily a “supportable” cause. What you think about your cause and what you’re willing to do is actually what you think and what you are willing to do. Only you, no one else. Or perhaps your neighbor, if the problem affects them both.

You should know that your fair cause is among a myriad of just causes, all of them far more supportable than yours, simply because there is a global agenda of the supportable causes by the general public. Furthermore, when the supportable causes by the masses are direct or indirectly convenient to central governments, just at that moment those causes become workable causes.

Looking at the situation objectively, fair causes that are too general — res public — are of broad concern in public opinion, but virtually no real interest. Thus, we can see the fact that global warming, pollution, impacts of ecosystem destruction, poor disposal of rubbish, etc. are problems of public concern, and everyone would like that all those problems were finally solved, although nobody will try to any deployment of resources or effort to solve them. People always choose evading responsibilities, attributing these to society, to the Government, to the world and any scapegoat you can imagine.

And what about the fair but specific causes? Here is the point where the despair is reality.

Fair but specific causes are only of exclusive concern of the direct stakeholder, even though the consequences may affect many more. The picture is bleak enough to say that the rest-who-are-not-directly-affected do not worry about the problem because it does not directly affect their bank accounts. We can attest that although abusive charges for basic services and taxes increase without stopping, the common crowd perfectly accepts any measure, being an example of civilized population. Meanwhile, in other parts of the globe, where there is “uncivilized” populations, we can see through news reports how to trigger the beast inside of man when the uncivilized masses are pissed off.

Well, getting back to your fair cause. What kind of support do you get? Canvases, tweets, marches, facebook statuses, shared images in virtual social networks where your fight is shown so everyone can see it. How much of all that moral support is really useful to your fair cause? How many, after seeing you defending your cause, left behind their normal lives to support you in your fight?

But don’t blame the press: If you are watching reports about shallow things is because that’s the journalists’ job, so if the market, namely consumer society of which you are part, wants to consume the vilest things you can imagine, the press will produce the garbage which society wants.

Blaming the press because it fills the masses with distractions to divert their sight of what is really important, not only is a fallacy, but a vulgar deception to satisfy the minds of the comfortable ones: if the press decide to do reports about fair causes, Would someone die for them?

Popular uprisings? Revolutions? Riots? Popular militias unleashing hell? Common crowds destroying anything they touch? For years, lots of fair causes warriors have been waiting for the people to join the ultimate revolution… which one it never will take place. What about the people? Today, those same people makes rows to buy the latest models of smartphones. Why should the people move for you? No matter how fair your cause is, no one cares.

Do It Like an Animal

Several years ago I heard a faux bishop on TV claim that certain practices, which in the olden days were quaintly called “unnatural acts”, could not be unnatural since animals in the wild performed them. Of course, in the olden days, bishops encouraged us to imitate the Saints, or even Christ, but never animals.

Affinity and Attraction

The Law of Affinity, which governs births, has been debased by the New Agers into the “Law of Attraction”. The former is an act of will and takes privation into account. The Law of Attraction, on the other hand, is more like magical thinking: just by thinking of something, the impersonal universe will somehow provide. The persistence of this notion is fascinating, since prosperity, love, health, and so on, remain elusive.

Of course, the obvious corollary, therefore, is that the lack of such goods is attributable to “stinking thinking.” Several months ago, a distraught woman approached me for advice. Not only did her boyfriend run off with a younger woman, but he managed to take a lot of her cash and even her car. Rather than lending a sympathetic ear, her new age friends insisted that something in her mind had attracted such turmoil. In other words, she was to blame.

I asked her how she could be responsible for the free acts of another person. As for her other problems, I explained some aspects of civil law and suggested some lawyers. That gave her some peace of mind as well as a course of action. It wasn’t much, but it was certainly better than having her meditate on her car coming back to her.

On the other hand, there is a certain basis to that perspective, despite its distortions. By the Law of Affinity, you have chosen, to some extent, those you come into contact with. That is worth pondering. So, if you did get involved in a bad relationship, look at it more closely. Were there little clues about that person’s values or psychological problems? Was there some neediness in you that kept you in that relationship?

Ignorance and lack of consciousness are privations. The purpose of the exercise is not to place blame, but rather to lead to more personal power, or freedom.

New Sins

Man is subjected to numerous laws at multiple levels. There are the abstract laws of logic and maths. There are physical laws of gravity and the other forces. It goes on: chemical, biological, sociological, and psychological laws all serve to limit one’s freedom and power.

Then there are laws formulated by society. Positive law should be in conformance with natural law, or else it places unnecessary burdens. The modern world is not as liberating as it believes, since it has created a vast number of new laws, now defined as “sins”. If it is not in Dante’s hell or confession manuals published prior to 1789, it is not a sin.

Real Sins

A real sin requires three characteristics:
  • It must be a serious matter, i.e., a breach of cosmic order.
  • The person must know it to be so
  • The person must do it freely or willingly
The three conditions are not always met, even in acts we consider heinous. A person may not know or understand the cosmic order. More likely, he is hardly free, since he is placed under so many laws, not of his choosing.

Hence, the artisan of the soul will seek to know the cosmic order. He will work to become free from useless laws, psychological turmoil, or hastily made commitments. In that case, the experience of win takes on a weightier, even terrifying, significance. The breach of the cosmic law involves a rupture with all creation.
Be careful about the opposites of the three imperatives.
  • Purity: impurity, expressed as a divided will and doubt
  • Watchfulness: sleep, hypnotized
  • To be Wise: to be sly

Update on Sintesi

I contacted my erstwhile collaborator Aeneas in South Beach. It turns out he has over 60% of the text translated. Therefore, I am turning over the translation to him, since it is a distraction from my main purpose. If he can stay sober long enough, the chapters will appear. Perhaps, we will create a separate blog just for him, although he is a technophobe. We may need to make it a “private” blog, depending on feedback.
He also agreed to translated some more of Evola’s essays.

The Justice Department’s Bogus Ferguson Report

Apropos Thorborne Richardson’s article on the Ferguson lynch mob, an article by John R. Lott, Jr. in the New York Daily News rounds out the story (“Ferguson Fakeout: The Justice Department’s Bogus Report“). After failing to nail Darren Wilson despite what were doubtless gargantuan efforts, Eric Holder’s department sought their pound of flesh anyway by writing a report condemning  the entire police department, with the predictable result that the police chief, Thomas Jackson, has resigned. Lott’s point is that the findings of the Justice Department report do not indicate discrimination, but may in fact result from differences in behavior.

Analogously, everyone knows that Blacks are overrepresented in the NBA and the NFL, but no one complains that it’s because of anti-White racism.

Addressing the nation from Selma, Ala., on Saturday, President Obama said that while racism may be “no longer endemic,” as it was 50 years ago, his Justice Department’s report on Ferguson shows that the “nation’s racial history still casts its long shadow upon us.”
Sorry: The Justice report doesn’t prove disparate treatment, let alone discrimination.
In fact, it looks more like something ginned up to distract from the embarrassing fact that Justice (in another report released the same day) wound up fully validating the findings of the Ferguson grand jury. . . .
“Data collected by the Ferguson Police Department from 2012 to 2014 shows that African-Americans account for 85 percent of vehicle stops, 90 percent of citations, and 93 percent of arrests made by FPD officers, despite comprising only 67 percent of Ferguson’s population.”
Those statistics don’t prove racism, because blacks don’t commit traffic offenses at the same rate as other population groups.
The Bureau of Justice Statistics’ 2011 Police-Public Contact Survey indicates that, nationwide, blacks were 31 percent more likely than whites to be pulled over for a traffic stop.
Ferguson is a black-majority town. If its blacks were pulled over at the same rate as blacks nationally, they’d account for 87.5 percent of traffic stops.
In other words, the numbers actually suggest that Ferguson police may be slightly less likely to pull over black drivers than are their national counterparts. They certainly don’t show that Ferguson is a hotbed of racism.
Critics may assert that that “31 percent more likely” figure simply shows that racism is endemic to police forces nationwide.
Hmm: The survey also reveals that men are 42 percent more likely than women to be pulled over for traffic stops. Should we conclude that police are biased against men, or that men drive more recklessly?
In fact, blacks die in car accidents at a rate about twice their share of car owners.
A 2006 National Highway Traffic Safety Administration study found that black drivers who were killed in accidents have the highest rate of past convictions for speeding and for other moving violations. This suggests that there are a lot of unsafe black drivers, not racism.
The Justice report on Ferguson continues, “African-Americans are at least 50 percent more likely to have their cases lead to an arrest warrant, and accounted for 92 percent of cases in which an arrest warrant was issued by the Ferguson Municipal Court in 2013.”
Again, this pretends that a mere difference is evidence of discrimination.
But the report’s statistic doesn’t even look at whether people pay their fine or appear in court — something that makes a big difference in whether to issue a warrant.
Could it be that blacks are more likely to face particularly serious charges?
Since Justice has gone through the case files, it could easily have answered the questions. Perhaps it didn’t like the answers. (Unfortunately, no national data are available for comparison.)
Another major complaint in the Justice report: “Most strikingly, the court issues municipal arrest warrants not on the basis of public-safety needs, but rather as a routine response to missed court appearances and required fine payments.”
If you think that this is unique to Ferguson, try not paying your next speeding ticket.
As for the anecdotal evidence Justice offers to bring home this complaint, well, here’s an anecdote from Washington, DC — a town with a black mayor and black-majority city council.
Megan Johnson, a black DC woman, recently failed to pay 10 parking tickets within the allotted 30 days. The city doubled her fines from $500 to $1,000, then booted, towed and sold her car — and charged her $700 for towing and impounding it.
DC sold the car at auction for $500 and won’t even credit that amount to what she owes. It’s now attaching her tax refunds.
Justice’s Ferguson anecdotes no more prove racism than Megan Johnson’s experience proves the DC government is racist.
Finally, for “direct evidence of racial bias,” the report describes seven emails from Ferguson police officers from 2008 to 2011 that Justice describes as offensive to blacks, women, Muslims, President Obama and his wife, and possibly people of mixed race.
But this begs some big questions: Did only one or two of the 53 officers send the emails? Did the objectionable emails end in 2011 because those officers no longer worked for the department or were told to stop?
The Justice Department’s report reads as a prosecutor’s brief, not an unbiased attempt to get at the truth, with evidence carefully selected and portrayed in the strongest possible light.
Differences don’t necessarily imply racism, but the Obama Justice Department doesn’t seem to care.
John R. Lott is the president of the Crime Prevention Research Center and a former chief economist for the United States Sentencing Commission.
Quite right. Differences don’t imply racism, and the same goes for differences in education and social class, as the genetic data continue to show. But the results of the Justice Department report are likely to have a negative impact on policing and public order in Ferguson. If police stop arresting people in order to make sure that Blacks are not disproportionately arrested, it wouldn’t be surprising to see more accidents and a general decline in the quality of life. If, as Lott notes, Blacks die in car accidents at a rate twice their share of car owners now, one can only suppose that the disparity will be higher if police are reluctant to arrest Blacks. Does that help the Black community? And, needless to say, the White flight that has resulted in Ferguson going from 85% White to 29% White in 30 years will continue. Will the left be happy when Ferguson turns into another Detroit?

It’s the same with school discipline where activists have deplored the fact that Black and Latino children are more often written up for disciplinary infractions, the assumption being that this could only be the result of racism. In Los Angeles, the result has been to drastically change disciplinary policies in an effort to end these racial disparities, although as of 2012-2013 Blacks and Latinos are still disciplined at far higher rates than Whites. But have the changed disciplinary practices resulted in a better educational environment for children who do want to learn? Does keeping disorderly children in class really benefit anyone? Have the altered disciplinary policies resulted in better test performance of the children?

I rather doubt it, but the activists really don’t care about that. It’s far more about blaming Whites for every disparity in racial outcomes—except the NBA and NFL variety. It’s all about stoking the anti-White narrative and inculcating White guilt and moralistic condemnation by Whites against their own people. Nothing else matters.

James Mac Recieves 'Creator of the Year Award'

Happy Rahowa Day! Today we commemorate the groundbreaking at the World Center in Otto, North Carolina. We also have a special announcement. Based on his bold representation of Creativity in public settings, his proactive attitude towards activism, and his embodiment of Creative virtues, Reverend James Mac, of the Church of Creativity England, has been named Creator of the Year for February 41- February 42 AC.

In response to the award, the Reverend had this to say:

"Thank you and Rev. Cambeul so much. I truly am surprised, touched and honoured by this fine award. The moment I saw the ‘Creator of the Year’ certificate with my name on it I was so thrilled and excited that I just wanted to show it off to the world.

I would like to thank all of those Creators around the world and other good White Racial Loyalist friends that have helped make this possible.

All that I strive to do is promote what I know to be the greatest idea in the history of the world, and make our fellow White people realise that this is the only Salvation for our kind. Knowing that Creativity is not being embraced and promulgated anywhere near as much as it should truly breaks my heart.

Every man and woman who has been convinced that Creativity is the way to White Redemption should be going wild for the glorious teachings of our great Founder, Ben Klassen, and want to share this wonderful news with every decent White person they meet.

I would urge Creators to read the ‘Manual for Ordained Ministers’ in Racial Loyalty Issue 10 or article 34 of Expanding Creativity. Read it several times, keep it for reference ( and share with others!), but especially heed the following sage advice:

‘The real secret of success is the follow-up, and don't be discouraged. Cultivate the partially interested the (a) type, but feed the information to them in moderate amounts with timely spacing. Don't overwhelm them in the first rush and turn them off. Your pay-off might come in a week, a month or maybe years later. You never know what will develop. You have sown the seeds and the ramifications may exceed your fondest expectations.’

We simply cannot do enough to promote and advance Creativity. Each of us must be indefatigable in our attempt to straighten out the White Man’s thinking. Nothing is more important than this noble endeavour.

If I could give any advice to other Creators it would be to read from the works of Ben Klassen daily, even if it is just a single chapter from NER, a credo from the WMB,or a segment from the Little White Book. Nothing else can fill a Creator with more inspiration. Nothing else can help him refrain from indulging in self-pity and negativity. Nothing else can do more to keep his thinking clear, and his mind from veering off into orbit by playing silly games with superstitions and false ideas.

‘A Credo a day keeps the cobwebs away.’

I vow that I will do at least 50 percent more to promote the White Man’s Creed - CREATIVITY - this year as I have the previous year. Not least because there are up and coming adherents that are filled with passion, zeal, drive and will strive to achieve this coveted honour.

The future of Creativity truly is exciting.

Irreconcilable Differences: The Case for Racial Divorce

White Nationalists believe that our race is on the road to simple biological extinction, and that the only real solution is to create homogeneously white homelands with pro-natal, pro-family institutions.

To make White Nationalism a reality, however, we have to convince our people that such policies are necessary, that they are moral, and that they are possible.

Political separation along ethnic lines does not happen every day, and it usually involves hatred, violence, and bloodshed. So most whites simply do not wish to contemplate it. But all-too-many whites are quite willing contemplate a smaller-scale form of separation, namely divorce. And indeed, the model we recommend for peaceful and humane racial separation is the so-called “velvet divorce” between the Czechs and the Slovaks.

If the relationship between whites and blacks in America today were a marriage, we would have divorced long ago. The same is true of whites and Jews, and any other non-white group. White Nationalists are simply proposing a policy of racial divorce.
Legally, there are two kinds of divorce: fault and no fault. In a fault divorce, at least one party is held responsible for the breakdown of the marriage. Causes include:
  • spousal abuse
  • substance abuse
  • incarceration
  • adultery
  • infecting one’s spouse with a sexually-transmitted disease
  • insanity
  • abandonment
In no fault divorces, neither party is held to be singly responsible. The main causes are separation and irreconcilable differences. Irreconcilable differences include:
  • Strong personality differences
  • Strong lifestyle differences
  • Strong differences between work and spending patterns
  • Lack of trust
  • Lack of reciprocity
  • Constant bickering
  • Long-simmering resentment
  • Contempt
  • Inability of the relationship to meet the emotional needs of one or both partners
It is interesting that even something as seemingly trivial as different work and spending habits can be a cause for divorce. But earning and spending are a large part of life, and mismatches there can easily spill over into and upset the rest of one’s life.

In the case of blacks and whites in America, there is plenty of fault on both sides. But focusing on historical grievances is actually a trap, simply because groups may be victims, but they are not perpetrators. Collective guilt is meaningless. And many individual whites and blacks today have not harmed or been harmed by one another, so collective historical grievances are not sufficient cause for many to contemplate racial divorce.

For instance, I think it was a terrible crime to introduce black slaves to the New World. But I do not feel a shred of guilt for it. And although my life has been negatively impacted by the presence of blacks in America, most black individuals have done me no harm, and some have actually benefited me. Thus my desire for racial divorce has nothing to do with guilt or innocence or moral judgments of any kind.

Racial divorce is not really about individuals at all. It is about the incompatibility of groups. There are above average blacks who are credits to white society, and there are below average whites who drag our race down. But the character of a society is determined by the average, not the outliers. Thus my desire for racial divorce is based simply on the recognition that whites and blacks as groups have irreconcilable differences that make it impossible for them to be fully happy when forced to live in the same system.

All the common causes of no fault divorce apply to the relationship of blacks and whites in America: on the whole, the races have different personalities, different lifestyles, different work and spending habits, etc. When forced to live in the same system, these differences create tensions. To use a trivial example, blacks have a very different sense of the passage of time, and when a long line of white people forms while a black Post Office clerk inanely chats away with the customer at the window, the result is resentment. We resent blacks for failing to live up to our standards, and blacks resent us for imposing white standards in the first place.

These problems are not based on history but on nature. Even without black slavery and black crime — even if the past could be completely wiped away and blacks and whites could start fresh on a desert island — these differences would give rise to new frictions and new resentments.

Given these differences, it should come as no surprise that relations between whites and blacks are poisoned with endless bickering, distrust, contempt, and long-simmering resentment and bitterness. Reciprocity is central to our idea of moral conduct, and unequal peoples cannot practice real reciprocity.

Again, if this were a marriage, it would have ended in divorce a long time ago. Any responsible marriage counselor would recommend a no fault divorce as quickly as possible, because such a relationship is on the road to a fault divorce, when bitterness becomes hatred and hatred becomes violence.

It is false to claim that White Nationalism is based simply on racial hatred. As the author of Confessions of a Reluctant Hater, I do not deny that hatred plays a role. But I believe that hatred must be seen primarily as the product, rather than the cause, of bad racial relationships. I hate other groups because of multiculturalism. I believe in racial divorce because I don’t want to hate other groups.

Most people who divorce do not simply hate one another. Presumably, they originally married out of affection. So usually there is a love-hate relationship. And although blacks and whites in America were forced together — the equivalent of a shotgun marriage — elements of genuine affection have still managed to grow up between the races. So there is a love-hate relationship here as well.

But in some cases, there is no hatred in divorce at all. Both parties simply recognize that they would be happier on their own, and they cordially separate. Furthermore, once people divorce, it is not uncommon for them to like one another more. It is easier to admire some people at a distance. Some people remember why they got married in the first place. Some even make the same mistake twice.

The main reason why individuals are willing to stay in unhappy and even abusive marriages is the conviction that their own happiness does not matter. They believe that duties to God or community or family are more important. Or they believe that they deserve to be unhappy because of feelings of guilt and worthlessness. Divorce is legitimate only if individual happiness is legitimate.

The same is true of bad racial relationships as well. Whites will never be free until we recover the conviction that we have the right to be happy, to flourish as a race rather than just fill the stomachs and empty the bedpans of the Third World.

When Barack Obama prissily reminds whites of the alleged horrors of the Crusades a millennium ago, lest headlines about ISIS give us any ideas about separation from the Muslim world today, or when Jews traumatize our children with Holocaust “education,” we have to see them for what they are: abusive spouses telling us that we are worthless, that we do not deserve to be happy, to keep us in subordinate, exploitative, parasitic relationships.

There is nothing more obscene than being exploited because of one’s conscience, by means of one’s conscience, by those who lack conscience altogether.

White Nationalists tend to be uncomfortable with divorce. We think that divorce rates are too high, because people are too individualistic and unwilling to compromise or to grow as individuals to make marriages and families work. But for all that, we recognize that individual happiness still matters, and that, try as we must, some marriages cannot work and should be dissolved for the good of all.

Our reluctance to condone divorce and our willingness to work to save even doomed marriages should give us insight into the minds of white liberals, many of whom are trying to make multiculturalism work out of the same essentially decent motives.

Yet white liberals are also willing — perhaps too willing — to condone divorce on the grounds of individual happiness. We need to make this tendency work for us. White Nationalism will seem much more appealing if our people come to see that multiculturalism is a marriage made in hell.

RIP Gordon Baum: James Edwards Eulogizes the Long-Time CofCC CEO

Gordon Baum, longtime CEO of the Council of Conservative Citizens, was called home to the Lord late last week. My wife and I left Memphis immediately after the live broadcast on Saturday night and drove to St. Louis so that we could pay our respects.

As most of our listeners know, The Political Cesspool Radio Program and the Council of Conservative Citizens have been working closely together for ten years. The CofCC was the first organization to promote TPC upon our inception in late 2004 and the partnership has been strong ever since.
It was through the CofCC that I was introduced to co-hosts Keith Alexander, Bill Rolen, and Winston Smith, and numerous other fine individuals who have had a lasting impact on our work on the airwaves. I’d like to think that we have reciprocated in kind because precious few organizations are as deserving as the Council.

Attending and speaking at Council conferences over the years have always been among the happiest and most memorable highlights of my annual calendar. The people there are some of the friendliest, supportive, and most down to earth folks I have ever met. Gordon was the glue of it all and it’s impossible to imagine a Council gathering without him there.

Gordon was a true stalwart and a man who dedicated his life to a cause greater than himself. He set an example as a Christian and as a family man. I’ve been blessed to have known the Baums for a long time now and it was an honor to be able to hug his wife at the funeral and tell her how much he meant to me.

In fact, the loss of Gordon seems to sting a little more today than it did even when I first learned of his passing. Now that it has all been processed, I seem to realize more fully how wonderful the experiences we shared were and the variety of ways in which he will be missed.

I’ll miss receiving his phone calls to talk about matters relating to the Council. I’ll miss catching up with him at occasions where our paths would have crossed. I’ll miss his distinctive accent and sense of humor when he appeared as a guest on TPC. I’ll miss going to the Midnight Jamboree at the Troubadour Theater in Nashville after a Board of Directors meeting. I’ll miss my friend.

The memories, however, will never fade and his legacy will endure. Rest in peace, brother. You did good and I’ll look forward to seeing you again one day in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Brad Griffin, Founding Editor of Occidental Dissent, just so happens to be Gordon’s son-in-law. He penned this stirring tribute which I would like to share with you now.
As many of you are aware by now, my father-in-law, Gordon Lee Baum, Esq., a founder and the present CEO of the Council of Conservative Citizens, passed away last Thursday after a long battle with cancer. He was 74 years old.
I’ve been in St. Louis since Friday afternoon. Gordon’s funeral, which was attended by a number of CofCC members as well as by many local people whose lives he had touched over the years, was Sunday. We buried him yesterday. Renee and I found the photo above while looking through some of his old boxes here. It struck me as the image that best captured who he was and his legacy to our generation.
Gordon was not someone who admitted defeat, who gave up, and that is putting it mildly. Since he was 16-years-old, he spent his entire adult life completely devoted to the cause of our people – literally days before his death, while he recovered from pneumonia, he was telling us to call various CofCC members. Even then, his mind was still focused on the cause. In this way, he reminded me of one of my heroes, the South Carolina fire eater Robert Barnwell Rhett, who once said, “I will keep up the fire, if like a lost hunter in a prairie, I have to kindle it alone, with my gun flint, and watch by the blaze, rifle in hand to keep off the wolves.”
That was my father-in-law in his time: when the Civil Rights of Act of 1964 was passed, when the Citizens’ Councils movement collapsed, when George Wallace, Strom Thurmond, and all the rest repudiated segregation and proclaimed their newfound faith in “racial equality,” when others quit, Gordon Lee Baum stood firm. As the world entered the present Dark Age, Gordon was there to keep up the fire of resistance. Together with other veterans of the Citizens’ Councils, he rebuilt the defunct organization as the Council of Conservative Citizens (CCC) in the 1980s, which has remained down to the present day an island of stability in the pro-White movement in the United States.
Like many alienated young people, that’s what first caught my eye about the CofCC. By then, it was an established institution with an unmatched record of stability, an organization with deep roots in the old resistance to the Civil Rights Movement in the 1960s. The CofCC was a natural home for White people with a populist conservative temperament who wanted to work with others, without apology or dog whistles, to preserve and restore traditional Southern values. At the 2010 CofCC National Conference, Gordon gave me a hard sales pitch and I signed up then and there.
That was no small thing. It later had a decisive impact on my life.
Every night without fail right down until the end, Gordon sat down in this chair to watch and absorb the local and national evening news. That will be one of my lasting memories of him. He wouldn’t have understood the reference, but he was, so to speak, a “Watcher on the Wall.” Near the end of his life, he watched the entire Ferguson saga unfold. Decades ago, he was watching the St. Louis metro area transform into “Ferguson,” and was dumbstruck that White people passively let it happen.
I stayed up with him many nights here talking about every subject imaginable with the exception of sports: some of his favorite topics were German and European history, the rise and fall of St. Louis, the history of the pro-White movement, his family and ancestors, the Lutheran Church and the existence of racial differences. It’s a shame that he never got around to writing a book about his life’s work. It would have been a good one.
I will also remember Gordon for his good natured sense of humor. Before we were so well acquainted, his nickname for me, apparently, was “Napoleon,” a reference to all the various pseudonyms that I have used in the past, including this one. He was perplexed and amused that people could believe so strongly in the welfare of their people, but were so afraid to be associated with their own beliefs.
Men used to be proud of their names and even prouder of their deeds. They were expected to defend their folk. Why are men in America today so afraid to stand up for what they believe in? Do they really care so much about what liberals think? He didn’t. One of his proudest memories was the CofCC’s role in defending the Confederate Battle Flag in Georgia, Mississippi, and South Carolina.
In hindsight, Gordon’s influence was one of the reasons why I abandoned anonymity and chose to take a more pro-active stand. Whereas previously I had just been a blogger, he convinced me of the importance of organizing our people. Among other things, I learned from him not to fight too much with other people, to stay level headed and good humored in these trying times, and not to get carried away with ideology, abstractions, or to expect too much from ordinary people in this fallen world.
Gordon Lee Baum fought to the end of his life to secure the future existence of his people. One day I will be able to tell my son, which is his grandson, that his grandfather, unlike so many other people, chose to confront this evil for the sake of his future. That’s the example that I want to live up to.
